Patriotism Illegal on DC Mall

On June 25th a group of conservative students from the Young America’s Foundation were requested by police to leave the area near the Lincoln Memorial after displaying unruly behavior. What was their crime? Singing the national anthem- OUR national anthem- The Star Spangled Banner.

Apparently police told them they must limit themselves to ‘content neutral’ expressions.

Park Police may not have noticed, but the words inscribed inside the Lincoln Memorial are not very ‘ neutral’ themselves. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time until they are prying the marble tablets down with a crowbar or defacing them with a chisel.

My daughter attended the YAF conference last year in DC. They also have a yearly conference at the Reagan Ranch. I would highly recommend these activities.

I love the closing comment by the Security Guard who dealt with the youth- “We need to make certain that all other visitors that don’t want to be a part of that or just choose to be tourists are able to do so in the same light that probably President Lincoln wanted – which is completely content neutral,” he said.

You just have to shake your head.

Funvee Hits the Road, Reichert Phones It In

It’s been several days since I painted up my vehicle, as seen in the previous post, and I would encourage you all to do the same. I love my loyal readers, but in a trip to Taco Time my van got more views than my web page. It does have to be short but sweet, but here we are mostly like minded individuals, and I want the people in my town to know that local, normal, friendly people oppose this plan. Maybe they will begin to ask themselves why.

Ugghhh! I Had thought about going up to Everett tonight for the town hall, But it’s a long way for us, and my sweetie is still at work. But he said that they’ve already filled up the Aqua Sox event center with union folks and it’s too late now.

Reichert Phones It In

Ugghhhh Again!

As far as our district goes, I hear Benedict Reichert Arnold is having a phone in Town Hall. LAME. I’m scheming though, about a little friendly demonstration just to be seen and heard as polite law abiding people who oppose the progressive system of government invading our lives.

I will be heard.

I will not be scared into staying home while our freedoms are seized!

I will not look on while our country is sold out!

And if your wondering about life in the Funvee….So far my painted window has had smiles and waves, and no ‘negative responses’ in the form of gestures, etc. Which is better than when I had it painted up for Governor Palin when she was the VP pick.

Honk if you see me around Seattle or the East Side.

What the Tea Party Means to Me

I would like to comment on the spin about the Tax day Tea Parties. It's interesting to see news reporters say these rallies were funded by rich republican businessmen or the Fox News Channel. If rich businessmen were giving out checks I never got mine...and while I love the Fox channel, I haven't had time to sit and watch a program in weeks. Nobody MADE me go to a Tea Party, in fact it was difficult to find the locations and in the end I missed two closer rallies on my way to Seattle, and passed two of my sisters, who, unknown to me, were going to a rally nearby.

So what does this tax day mean to ME???? Just this:
Do not spend my tax dollars to overthrow my constitution!

I'm all for lowering the taxes for those who pay them, but frankly, MORE people should pay, not less. Every American should pay some taxes. If you are on welfare you should see on your check that some of it 'went back' in the form of taxes. Removing people from the tax roll is dangerous. Once more than 50% of the people pay no taxes, then the rest of us who do become their slaves. Democracy will give them the power to take everything you've got, while it lasts. The earners and producers and innovators are punished, and the whole thing will fall like a house of cards.
So, LOW taxes, but taxes for all.

Today we took two of our daughters to the Tax Tea Party in Seattle. Here are some pictures.

...Of Right Wing Extremist chatter. Why?

Because I support and defend the constitution this country was based on. Because I am a religious person, have a right to own a gun, and favor LEGAL immigration and protecting the innocent unborn, I am now on the Homeland Security watch list I guess.

But the the truth is, if Obama actually believed and intended to uphold the oath he took in January, he'd be on the the watch list too.
