Obama Reprimands the GOP

Hat tip to Left Coast Rebel for the video.

Why is Obama behaving like a whining baby? This video is priceless. He meets with the GOP members to answer questions ostensibly and ends up sulking and carrying on in his normal, angry, pseudo-orator way.

My favorite part is when he calls his health care debacle ‘centrist’ and then gets irritated at the audience response. Who are you to doubt what this radical leftist calls centrist!

If Obama thinks taking over the nation’s health care industry is ‘centrist’ than heaven know what else he would like to do!

Another choice bit of his self deception is to say that Republicans are only opposing this because they are afraid that their riled up constituents will vote them out. HELLO! Isn’t that exactly what is happening to Democrats right now????

He is mad that republicans wont ‘cooperate’. Why should we cooperate with a bad plan we don’t like? We don’t want to meet you halfway because we don’t agree with the PREMISE that health care needs more government involvement.

Secondly, he can’t even get some of his democrat colleagues on board. So why is he complaining to us? There are enough democrats to pass it. He just wants republican names so that when it is a disaster it will be a bi-partisan disaster.

The overall expressions and tone of this rant, which went on and on, is that of a bratty kid threatening his parents when they won’t let him do what they want. “If you don’t give in to me you are going to give yourself very little room to negotiate with me. I’m warning you!”

Republican Response to State Of The Union

McDonell state of Union response

I admit I did not watch all of President Obama’s State of the Union address. I tried, a few times. Caught a little before dinner, and was able to see some more after. It doesn’t really matter though to me because most of what he says I strongly disagree with, and anything sensible he may say is probably just a lie to pander to moderates.

I did watch all of Gov. McDonnell’s response and I loved it. I kept thinking “That is a great line”, and “That is a great quote”

Virginia Statehouse Response to SOTU Before I get to that I will add that it was brilliant to do the response from the Virginia State Capitol with an audience. I’m sure this will set a precedent for Republicans and Democrats alike.

You know I love quotes, so lets get on with it-

My favorite quotes from the speech:

“Good government policy should spur economic growth, and strengthen the private sector's ability to create new jobs.

We must enact policies that promote entrepreneurship and innovation, so America can better compete with the world.

What government should not do is pile on more taxation, regulation, and litigation that kill jobs and hurt the middle class.

It was Thomas Jefferson who called for "A wise and frugal Government which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry ....and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned..." He was right.”

On the topic of health care:

“All Americans agree, we need a health care system that is affordable, accessible, and high quality.

But most Americans do not want to turn over the best medical care system in the world to the federal government.

Republicans in Congress have offered legislation to reform healthcare, without shifting Medicaid costs to the states, without cutting Medicare, and without raising your taxes.

We will do that by implementing common sense reforms, like letting families and businesses buy health insurance policies across state lines, and ending frivolous lawsuits against doctors and hospitals that drive up the cost of your healthcare.

And our solutions aren't thousand-page bills that no one has fully read, after being crafted behind closed doors with special interests.”

(italics are mine)

On government over-reach:

“Here at home government must help foster a society in which all our people can use their God-given talents in liberty to pursue the American Dream. Republicans know that government cannot guarantee individual outcomes, but we strongly believe that it must guarantee equality of opportunity for all.

That opportunity exists best in a democracy which promotes free enterprise, economic growth, strong families, and individual achievement.

Many Americans are concerned about this Administration's efforts to exert greater control over car companies, banks, energy and health care.

Over-regulating employers won't create more employment; overtaxing investors won't foster more investment.

Top-down one-size fits all decision making should not replace the personal choices of free people in a free market, nor undermine the proper role of state and local governments in our system of federalism. As our Founders clearly stated, and we Governors understand, government closest to the people governs best.”

Amen!

If I were a Soldier…..

So, one of the features on X-box Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is that you can map your own face onto the soldier.  My husband tried it last night and he looked pretty tough.

So of course I had to try it.

I immediately ran upstairs to fix my make-up. Changed my ear rings….twice, then after the first try I added more makeup because the X-box camera really washed me out. I know you all want to see how it turned out…….

How about a little (more) face paint?

I Know I’m probably not brave enough, and definitely not tough enough, to be a real soldier. But I thought this was pretty cool!

Eye on Massachusetts

scott_brown

Good Luck Scott Brown !!!

Conservatives everywhere will be watching the Massachusetts returns tomorrow.  I will be there too. It’s just as fun to watch the media response.

I don’t know what is going to happen but my spirits are lifted just by seeing a close fight here. Maybe this is our country’s first step in pushing back the tide of Socialism that some elected leaders are trying to slip past us.
