Disgusting ‘Going Green’ Ad

This ad was released this week in Britain and is truly shocking.

Do environmentalists think that it’s funny to show children blown up because they don’t want to go green? It shows how truly sick and evil they are. It reminds me a little of the ‘Harmonizer’ machine from Atlas Shrugged.

Agree with us, peacefully, no pressure.

Here is some of the fallout from the ad.

It’s funny how deranged, perverted minds feel free to come out of the woodwork once they think enough people are on their side.

It’s just an adventure, he already has a job

Recently my husband joined the Army Reserve.

He is former Air Force, way back in the early years of our marriage. Last year he decided he wanted to do more that sit around working on the coolest job ever at Microsoft X-box. So he put things in motion a while back. Our family has seen a lot of changes in the past couple years with our older children leaving for school and now this.

I have a weird mixture of worry, pride, and just thinking he looks awesome in a uniform.

Another bit of family news… You know I am a hard core conservative. I come from a large family and we range the political spectrum. I have a relative who is a ‘prepper’, and since some of you may be into that I wanted to give you a link to his interesting blog, Kuerno the Prepper. Enjoy!

Another Remembrance of September 11, 2001

Hat tip to Arianne for sharing this moving video she watched in an education class at college.
It makes me wonder how we came so far from the spirit and determination we had in those days.
Thank heavens some of us are still there.

My Suspicions

I was just reading an article about a teacher and one little sentence caught my eye. While talking about wiping off the grimy, germy, children’s desks, the woman said ‘Because of health regulations we are not allowed to use any cleaners’.

It was in the middle of a longer paragraph, stated like a well known fact. You all understand. Cleaners aren’t allowed. Because of health regulations.

There was in the not too distant past, a time when health regulations would have said ‘Cleaners MUST be used’.

What are we coming too? What is this step backward? No wonder our children are getting sicker every year, and half the school is out with swine flu in January. 

Over the spring and summer I’ve heard repeated instances of bedbugs being found amongst the products of popular New York retail stores. Could it be terrorism? Could it be immigrants?

My suspicion is that a pesticide was banned somewhere along the line. Banned because it wasn’t ‘green’ enough or renewable enough, or it was tested on animals (pests maybe?). So for that we get to go back to the 1930’s and check our mattresses before crawling into bed.

How far will it go? How long before plastic is removed from our meat department to invite spoilage, germs, and that awful ‘grocery store smell’ of second world countries?

 

 

Thanks for hearing my rant. It’s a mini-rant…..I want to talk about the closing of GE last incandescent light bulb factory but I’m too upset right now.

Patriotism Illegal on DC Mall

On June 25th a group of conservative students from the Young America’s Foundation were requested by police to leave the area near the Lincoln Memorial after displaying unruly behavior. What was their crime? Singing the national anthem- OUR national anthem- The Star Spangled Banner.

Apparently police told them they must limit themselves to ‘content neutral’ expressions.

Park Police may not have noticed, but the words inscribed inside the Lincoln Memorial are not very ‘ neutral’ themselves. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time until they are prying the marble tablets down with a crowbar or defacing them with a chisel.

My daughter attended the YAF conference last year in DC. They also have a yearly conference at the Reagan Ranch. I would highly recommend these activities.

I love the closing comment by the Security Guard who dealt with the youth- “We need to make certain that all other visitors that don’t want to be a part of that or just choose to be tourists are able to do so in the same light that probably President Lincoln wanted – which is completely content neutral,” he said.

You just have to shake your head.

Star Spangled Banner

I got this graphic over at Vintiquities Workshop and the author said she would love to see this flag all over blogland. I love it and am adding it to my sidebar.

I read a lot of blogs on the ‘arts and crafts’ circuit and am inspired by all the patriotic, flag waving, America loving people we have across the country. Sometimes living out in the left coast I forget that a patriotic display is more common in other areas.

Voters, Shmoters.

OK, perhaps the name of this post doesn’t reflect the seriousness of what the courts have done, but it does represent their flippant attitude toward legislation from the bench and overturning the will of the people of California when it comes to today’s ruling.

I agree with the following statement issued by my church leaders- In opposing the ruling and changes to the definition of marriage, while I still believe in treating other humans with ‘mutual respect and civility’.

SALT LAKE CITY 4 August 2010 The Church issued the following statement today in response to the ruling by Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in Perry et al v. Schwarzenegger et al:

“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints regrets today’s decision.  California voters have twice been given the opportunity to vote on the definition of marriage in their state and both times have determined that marriage should be recognized as only between a man and a woman. We agree.  Marriage between a man and a woman is the bedrock of society. 

“We recognize that this decision represents only the opening of a vigorous debate in the courts over the rights of the people to define and protect this most fundamental institution—marriage.
“There is no doubt that today’s ruling will add to the marriage debate in this country, and we urge people on all sides of this issue to act in a spirit of mutual respect and civility toward those with a different opinion.”
